The Summer Meeting Program Committee invites you to read this brief newsletter sharing highlights and more from Summer Meeting 2023, which was held virtually July 18-20 with the theme of Community-Collaboration-Change.

Evaluation Highlights

We gathered data from Zoom usage reports and survey responses to evaluate the success of Summer Meeting 2023. These are some of the highlights.

Participation

339 Alliance library workers attended at least one session. Over 60 presenters, facilitators, and hosts shared their experiences and provided support.

Survey Responses

Survey respondents shared their experiences of and expectations for a series of statements, including:

  • 92% agreed sessions reinforced their current knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.
  • 90% agreed they learned something new.
  • 86% agreed they were likely to apply what they learned as part of their regular job.
  • 92% agreed session topics were interesting and timely.

Recordings Available

All recordings are posted online, though most conversations were not recorded to allow greater interaction. To find a recording from a specific session, we recommend locating that session from the schedule and then selecting the link to go directly to the session’s details on the session descriptions page. All recordings are also available as a YouTube playlist.

Next Steps

The program committee summarized evaluation responses and feedback to share with the next committee. This included logistics, such as breaks and schedules, as well as programming, such as topics and session types.

Please stay tuned to the Announce and program email lists for future professional development opportunities. And if you need to be added to a list, Elizabeth Duell is happy to help!

Thank You

Finally, we’d like to thank the Alliance community. Thank you for attending, presenting sessions, and engaging with the presenters. And thank you for sharing your feedback.
