New Policy: Network Zone Record Deletion - Don't Delete!!

Alma’s June release brought a change to record loading in the Network Zone environment that enables institutional accounts to delete Network Zone bibliographic records.  In order to ensure that incoming institutions can match to Network Zone records, it is critical to preserve bibliographic records in the NZ which represent holdings from Cohort 3 and 4 institutions.

All libraries that are live on Alma should check their existing import profiles to ensure that the “Allow bibliographic record deletion” option has not been selected.

The policy is posted on the Technical Services Program page.

C3 Libraries: Welcome to Alma!

Congratulations to Cohort 3 libraries going live this month! You will have many questions as you start working live in the system, and I would like to take this chance to remind you that there are a variety of resources available for you.

Alma Operational Policies

The Collaborative Technical Services Team has drafted a variety of policies on standard practices using Alma. These policies are designed to protect the integrity of our shared system and create consistency across institutions. All policies are listed on this website.

Technical Services Discussion Group

This email list for technical services staff is a good place to start with your Alma questions. People from cohorts 1 and 2 will see your messages and provide helpful guidance. If you are not on this list, ask Elizabeth Duell or Kathi Fountain to sign you up.

Summer Meeting

The summer meeting will provide you with a lot of helpful advice related to cataloging, acquisitions, and e-resources management. Last day to register is this Friday, June 20th! We will be collecting presentation notes and slides for sharing after the meeting.
