Overlay Policy Updated

The Collaborative Technical Services Team has approved a revision to the Overlay Policy. This revision addresses two important changes to the way records are being managed in Alma. 1) The OCLC daily load process is updating records automatically. 2) Staff now need to retain 035s during overlay. Please view the updated overlay policy on the Technical Services Program Alma Operational Policies page.

Alliance Best Practices for Non-Serial Electronic Resources in Alma

A task group, led by Diana Brooking and under the auspices of SILS, wrote a best practices document for managing non-serial e-resources in Alma. The document was just approved on March 28th. I want to make sure that Technical Services staff are aware of these recommendations. The document is linked from the Shared ILS page - Documents tab.

Alliance Team Reorganization

During the Council meeting in mid-March, Council approved a new organization structure which will affect all of the teams. The work of the Collaborative Technical Services Team will be folded into the Collaborative Workforce Team. We are awaiting a Board charge, the set of priorities for the Team, and a timeline for implementation. For now, you can preview the new organizational chart.

Summer Meeting

Along with other teams, CTST is considering programming to offer at the Alliance Summer Meeting, July 9-10, related to collaborative technical services and the shared ILS. This event will replace the fall symposium from last year, and it will include a variety of breakout sessions applicable to technical services staff. If it is not already on your calendar, please plan to join us.

Best,
Kathi
