RSF Mentorship Pilot Program

The RSF Mentorship Pilot Program facilitates connections between like institutions and staff in similar roles to build expertise, and connects new Alliance member staff to resources.
Full Pilot Program Proposal: includes timelines for the project, as well as criteria for mentors and mentees.

  • Mentor Training: 2 hours per month to review program curriculum

  • Mentor-pairs assigned; mentees assigned to pairs

August 3rd 2018

  • Summit & Fulfillment Day - program kick-off
  • Mentors and mentees have a chance to meet in person

September 2018 - May 2019

  • Mentor Groups: 1 hour monthly meetings

June 2019

  • Mentee/Mentor assessment
  • Groups provide program feedback


RSF Mentors

  • Build expertise in leading small group discussions in conference call format
  • Build expertise in use of GTM, Google Apps (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Forms), and listservs
  • Build expertise in training and orienting newer member staff to Alliance work
  • Increase their confidence level in what they know

RSF Mentees

  • Build expertise in participating in small group discussions in conference call format
  • Build expertise in collaborating via GTM, Google Apps (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Forms), and listservs
  • Understand the suite of resources available through Ex Libris and the Alliance

Additional outcomes

  • Increased engagement and participation in consortial activities
  • Expand network of Alliance member staff connections
