ConsortiaManager FAQ

  • What is ConsortiaManager?
    • ConsortiaManager (CM) is consortial electronic resource management system (ERMS) that will be used to manage Alliance electronic subscriptions.
  • When will CM be fully implemented?
    • All Alliance subscriptions with a renewal date of July 1, 2020 or later will be managed in CM.
  • What is the URL for ConsortiaManager?
  • What if I forgot my password?
    • You can reset your password directly in CM or contact eresources@orbiscascade.org.
  • Will non-member affiliates be able to use CM?
    • Yes. All Alliance subscribers (whether members or affiliates) will need to manage their renewals via CM.
  • Will a consortial pricing grid be available in CM for Alliance resources?
    • Yes. Institutional pricing will be loaded into the system for renewals and reporting, but complete pricing grids will also be available. However, effective with July 1 renewals, pricing will not be added to the "Subscription Summaries" on the Alliance site.
  • Is historical pricing loaded into CM?
    • Yes. In most cases, resources will have FY 2020 (July 2019-June 2020) data loaded in addition to the FY 2021 pricing. In some cases, FY 2019 will be available, as well.
  • What happens if I do not submit a renewal decision through CM?
    • Our current policies have not changed. If you do not elect to end a subscription during the review period, you will automatically be renewed. This is consistent with current practice.
  • Will Alliance subscribers be invoiced from the CM system?
    • No. The current process for invoicing will remain the same. There will be no change in invoice format at this time.
  • Will the "Subscription Summaries" remain available on the Alliance Web site?
    • Yes. The Alliance Subscription Summaries will remain available on the Alliance site. As resources are transitioned into CM, the summaries will no longer be updated. A password will still be required to access the summaries from the Web site.
  • Will shared Alliance ebooks be managed in CM?
    • No. The Alliance ebook program management is completely separate from ER subscription management, and the shared Alliance ebook collection will not be managed in CM.
  • Will CM include licenses?
    • Yes. Legacy license documentation will be loaded into CM as soon as possible. The first priority is getting subscription pricing data loaded. In the meantime, licenses will still be available on the Alliance "Subscription Summaries." Note that license documentation dated July 1, 2020 (or later) will only be loaded into CM and not added to the summaries on the Alliance site.
  • Can I manage my institutional subscriptions in CM?
    • No. CM will only include Alliance-managed e-resources.
  • Is there documentation about using CM?
    • Yes. The user guide can be found here.
  • Is there a recorded training session?
    • Yes. The Alliance training session on April 28, 2020 was recorded and lis available here.
