Happy New Year to you all!

Congrats to the C2 libraries on a successful migration. A policy is still in development, but all libraries are expected to use Alma functionality to track orders. When a policy is finalized, I will announce it here.

DDA Update

Per my last update, access to the Springer/Apress titles have been turned off. C3 and C4 will see the records purge in the next update. C1 and C2 have a new file of all available ebooks available in their Alma systems. This file should not include Apress titles. Notify me or Bob Thomas if you discover that it does.

There was one title purchased by the Alliance from Apress, called "Beginning Android 4 Games Development" (eISBN 9781430239888). We have received a refund for the purchase, but I want to call attention to this title in case your library would like to acquire it now that it is not provided in the Ebook Program.

The Ebook Working Group will be meeting this month to discuss adjustments to the program, including the purchasing model and modest adjustments to the formula used to determine library invoices.

Steering Team

The Steering Team will begin meeting monthly beginning in January to begin work in earnest on several initiatives. Among them are:

1) Following up on the "unique items" reports shared last week and below, a small group will be formed to consider any potential next steps. If you have an interest in participating, let me know. If you have ideas for how to use the unique reports to inform collection management, share them with me or a member of the Steering Team.
2) Another small group has been formed to begin conversations about how we might pursue coordinate print purchasing across the Alliance. One idea is to have a print purchase on demand option. Again, if you have ideas or interest in serving, contact me or a member of the Steering Team.

Unique Items

As mentioned in the last update, Mark Watson and Dave Fowler, both of University of Oregon, were able to capture some collections information from WorldCat in order to produce library-specific reports about the unique titles we each hold. Each library has a unique report, and there is a summary for us all to review. [Request your reports from Kathi]

All the best,
