As part of the partnership established between Ex Libris and the Orbis Cascade Alliance, a Center of Excellence (COE) has been created, with a focus on the development and continual enhancement of Alma, Primo, and best practices for consortia.  The COE combines the expertise of our two organizations in a partnership to maximize the value and functionality of Alma and Primo in a deeply collaborative multi-institutional environment.

Through this partnership, Ex Libris and the Alliance are collaborating to

  • Improve and develop consortial functionality in Alma and Primo
  • Define and document best practices for consortia in such areas as collection development, collaborative services, resource sharing, and user experience
  • Develop and document implementation best practices for consortia
We are working together to plan, implement, and evaluate the results.  While the scope of these discussions may include long-term goals, during the implementation phase the primary focus will be on production readiness, specifically related to consortial functionality.  The COE will continue for a defined period into the post-implementation phase.
