Research Data Management in Alliance Libraries: An Environmental Scan
The Orbis Cascade Alliance Data Sets Exploration Working Group of the Content Creation & Dissemination Team invites all interested members of Alliance libraries to participate in a moderated open discussion on research data management activities and services at their institutions.
Funding agencies are announcing requirements for research data management including data management plans (DMPs) and data archiving. Emerging interdisciplinary studies are bringing data-driven research to humanities and social sciences. In response, libraries and their allies are exploring new roles and services.
To understand this new landscape, the Data Sets Exploration Working Group is conducting an environmental scan of data management issues at Alliance libraries to determine needs, current practices, and an appropriate Alliance role.
