The Alliance Harvester allows Alliance members who have digital collections described in Dublin Core in an open system to contribute those collections for aggregation in the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA), Alliance Primo, or both. Please note that the Alliance has neither completed its DPLA application process nor moved the aggregation in Primo to production at this time.

For details on the harvester's functionality and use, please see the Digital Collections documentation.

Contribution Agreement
The following appears as text on the Alliance Harvester. Institutions contributing collections must agree to the following to contribute collections for DPLA, Primo, or both via checkbox:

By choosing "DPLA and Primo" or "DPLA Only" in the Destination(s) box above, I am acting on behalf of my institution to authorize the Orbis Cascade Alliance (Alliance) to harvest the metadata and associated records (including images and other information) for the set specified in "Set URL" (above) to enable the Alliance to share all of this information with users broadly, detailed below.

If I chose "Primo Only" in the Destination(s) box above, I am acting on behalf of my institution to authorize the Orbis Cascade Alliance (Alliance) to harvest the metadata for the set specified in "Set URL" (above) for the purpose of aggregating in Alliance Primo, which means that the information will be widely available through Alliance members’ Primo and other discovery interfaces. I understand that the Alliance will not share this metadata with the Digital Public Library of America.

By selecting DPLA and Primo, in addition to the permission granted through Primo above, the institution acknowledges that the Alliance will additionally share the information with the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA), under the terms of the agreement established between the DPLA and the Alliance, which grants rights to DPLA to make the information available through their interfaces throughout the world. Under current terms, I understand that the digital collections metadata -- but not the digital collections themselves -- will be made available under a Creative Commons Zero (CC0) Dedication. For information made available under “No Copyright” or appropriate Creative Commons licenses, my institution acknowledges that this information may be broadly re-used by users around the world.

In all cases, I agree that:
My institution has taken best efforts to gain permission or a waiver from any parties who hold interests in intellectual property rights in such information (including metadata and images). The information we have provided may not always appear as a complete record to end users of Primo and/or DPLA. We desire that our information be broadly available for educational and other purposes.
