Pickup Locations

 

III maintains a central "Pickup Locations Table" that controls the catalog display or paging slip printing of additional information about the pickup location and courier drop site. (Illustration of elements on a paging slip)

Display Name

For the patron. When an institution has more than one Pickup Location, the union catalog prompts the patron to select the Pickup Location. The system displays the "Display Name" choices in the table. Maximum 30 characters.

Location Code

For the patron. When a patron uses "V> View your circulation record" to see that a requested Summit item is ready for pickup, the system displays the label associated with the location code as the pickup location.

Print Name

For the patron. Printed on paging slips, bottom half - right column, following "PICKUP AT:" Maximum 20 (or 23?) characters.

Delivery Stop

For staff. The courier service drop site, used when an institution has more than one drop site. Prints on paging slip below name of borrowing institution. Maximum 32 characters. When the institution has a single drop site, the Delivery Stop will be "blank" so that nothing prints below the institution name.

You may use existing location codes, or create new codes to suit the purpose, coordinating with staff at central to ensure INN-Reach compatibility and table changes.
