| As of April, Summit includes 24 million item records and 7.4 million bibliographic records (after merging 16 million bib records from member libraries). | ||||||||||||||

| Pickup Anywhere (PUA) | ||||||||||||||
| In April, member library and consortium staff implemented the Pick-Up Anywhere (PUA) module. With PUA, patrons can place requests on Summit and have their items delivered to any member library. Using Millennium Circulation, circ staff receive and check out materials for patrons that are from other member institutions. When they are done borrowing the items, patrons can return their Pickup Anywhere materials to any member library. | ||||||||||||||

| The ER Program has been very active. Highlights include: | ||||||||||||||

Program planning for ER Committee meeting on May 14 * Distribution of an extensive renewal survey listing products and price information. * Several libraries have joined group purchases for products they formerly bought directly. * Greg Doyle is representing the Alliance on the RFP process as an ex-officio member of the Oregon Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee. Greg is joined by Alliance members representing private, public, and community colleges. * New proposals have been presented to members from Facts.com, Classical.com, and Gale Virtual Reference Library. * An initial meeting was coordinated with a few libraries interested in an e-journal package from Kluwer. More discussion will take place at the May 14 meeting. |

| Acquisitions Institute | ||||||||||||||
| The Orbis Cascade Alliance serves as fiscal agent for a great acquisitions and collection development conference: The Acquisitions Institute at Timberline Lodge. This May marks the fifth annual conference and registration has been full for some time now. | ||||||||||||||
| Western Digital Forum on Newspaper Digitization | ||||||||||||||
| The Alliance is working with OCLC Western to co-host a new event: Western Forum on Newspaper Digitization. We are currently looking at dates in October or November. Stay tuned for more information. | ||||||||||||||
| Council | ||||||||||||||
| The Orbis Cascade Alliance Council page has been updated to include action items from the April meeting as well as adopted meeting minutes for January. Council is working on a wide variety of issues, including ILL, membership criteria, bylaws revisions, and consideration of new members. | ||||||||||||||
