Committees E-mail lists Blog

Routine business

Direct comments or questions about The Alliance to your library director or institution's representatives to Alliance committees, who can provide explanations or coordinate inquiries to Alliance staff. Or, you may contact Alliance staff directly.

E-mail lists may be used to ask questions and discuss topics with Alliance colleagues. You may submit comments and ideas for topics not yet covered to your to Institution Representative, to Alliance staff, or to an appropriate Alliance e-mail list.

Emergencies

Report emergencies, such as Summit union catalog system is "down," directly to Alliance staff.

Staff at member libraries

Alliance staff maintain contact lists of staff at all member libraries. The list includes information on committee membership, voice and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses. See also List of Member Institutions and Committees.

Committee work

Council has approved the creation of committees and task forces. For information on the various groups, committee structure and principles, see:

Electronic mail lists

Member library staff may sign up for one or more e-mail lists. These lists are closed (i.e. postings are limited to list subscribers) and not moderated. Alliance staff send items of general interest, announcements, and inquiries on the lists – such as project updates and notice of planned down time for routine maintenance. Subscribers may use the list to pose questions, share information, and make suggestions.   While these lists may be used to discuss and report on committee work, subscription is not limited to committee members; all library staff are invited and encouraged to subscribe and use the list.
