Checkin from Patron and Return to Owning Site

Checkin #2
 1).
Check in Item from Patron

Mode: In Millennium Circulation Change the current mode to Check-In (No Patron)

Scan Barcode: Scan the item's barcode

• Millennium Circulation displays the message:

Barcode '60009095' was found as '600090959osu0'
Continue using record for '600090959osu0'?

Choose YES to continue. Choosing NO stops the check-in process.

• Millennium Circulation displays the name of the owning site and asks you if you want to check in the item:

Item belongs at Oregon State U

Choose either the CHECK-IN or Do NOT check-in option.

• Millennium Circulation prompts you to queue a transit slip to be printed later:

Item belongs to Oregon State U
Print transit slip?

Note: Libraries do not generally print transit slips unless the paging slip and/or bookband have been removed or lost. In that case, the transit slip identifies the item when received at the owning site.

2).
Prepare Item for return to Owning Site:

• Draw a line through the bookband or use a stamp to indicate the book is being returned to the Owning Site. This makes it easier to sort the courier delivery.

• Remove any extraneous notes, paging slips; return the item "clean."

3).
Return Item to Owning Site: Pack item(s) into Summit Borrowing courier bag(s) to return to Owning Site.
