Library Consortia in Oregon & WashingtonThis site attempts to provide an overview of selected library consortia active in Oregon, Washington and Idaho, with an emphasis on those that include academic libraries. The list below is alphabetical within three broad groupings: Library Consortia in the Region, Statewide Consortia, and Broader Consortia with Members in the Northwest. I have taken a rather loose definition of “consortium” to include formal organizations with well developed governance models, loosely organized “buying clubs,” and organizations that offer opportunities to share information but do not provide formal services. In general, this site includes organizations that have institutions as members and excludes professional organizations that have individuals as members (e.g., OLA, WLA). I am certain that I have forgotten important groups and that my description of others may leave much to be desired. Please send updates and corrections to John F. Helmer, jhelmer@uoregon.edu. A partial list of consortia around the world is sponsored by the International Coalition of Library Consortia at http://www.library.yale.edu/consortia/.
