News Update January 2005 |
New members. The Orbis Cascade Alliance is pleased to announce new members in 2004: Portland Community College, Saint Martin's College, Seattle University, Clark College, and Mt. Hood Community College. PCC's holdings, approaching 300,000 items, were added to the Orbis Cascade Alliance's "INN-Reach" union catalog, Summit, in Spring 2004. PCC patrons, and materials, joined Summit Borrowing in the summer. Saint Martin's College, in Lacey, Washington, added nearly 100,000 items to Summit in August and joined Summit Borrowing in September. Clark College is the 30th member and the first Washington community college to join. Clark added records to Summit in the fall, and joined Summit Borrowing in early January 2005. Seattle University's Lemieux and Law libraries, combined, added over a million items -- pushing Summit to over 25 million books, journals, sound recordings, and more! SU will join Summit Borrowing in January 2005. Mt. Hood Community College, in Gresham, Oregon, is the 31st and most recent member to join, and anticipates inclusion in Summit this year. With inclusion of its latest members, the consortium now serves close to 200,000 full-time students at private and public colleges and universities throughout Washington and Oregon. | |
