Summit Problem Reporting

User Interface

Patron interface; catalog; discovery

Please be as specific as possible and include the search entered, results, and how they differed from your expectations.  Please include a screenshot if that would help convey information.

Background: We are establishing an Alliance WorldCat UI Focus Group for Alliance members to provide feedback to OCLC concerning the user interface, ranking algorithm, and all aspects of the user experience related to both navigator and Local.  This group is expected to meet via teleconference prior to the ALA annual meeting in 2009.  In preparation for the work of this focus group, we'd appreciate feedback from Alliance members via worldcatnavigator@oclc.org.

NRE Tips and Q/A

Known issues

Background
We ask that problems be reported only by the Summit Migration Contact, Summit Borrowing Committee members, or Circ contacts for each institution.

One required element of the problem report form is "Problem area," which supplies a number of defined types of issues that will help us prioritize and route problems.  Triage will be performed by a core group that will prioritize problems, answer where appropriate and forward others to experts in particular areas.  Experts will use the Problem solving protocol as a guide and, as needed, elevate issues to OCLC staff for resolution.
