Working Group
All Working Groups have a specific charge to communicate with the Steering Team, each other, and the membership with assistance of the Program Manager. Working Group chairs or their designees will attend the Steering Team’s monthly phone conference calls.
Steering Team and Working Group chairs will review and modify charges mid-year, as needed.

Charge for FY09
|
This year, we specifically group charges by tasks and R&D efforts. Tasks are fairly discrete, need to be coordinated mostly with the Program Manager, and will be acted on this fiscal year. R&D efforts are more long-reaching in scope, are coordinated mostly with the Steering Team, and may influence the medium- and long-term direction of the program.
Tasks:
o Work with Database Administrator and Program Manager to develop a fully-functioning collection-level web encoding template
o Best Practices updates/maintenance as needed
Research & Development:
o Research EAD schema, and issue a recommendation about NWDA making this transition
o Explore browsing terms with UDWG (are they being used? How do we envision them being used? Are they effective?). Take into account current technical infrastructure that depends on browsing terms.
o Investigate and recommend easier ways to encode container lists
