- Investigate new tools (e.g. Archivist's toolkit, Oxygen, Archon) for
encoding and managing EAD finding aids and other metadata about archival
materials
- Work with Digital Program Working Group, NWDA Program Manager, and Digital
Services Program Manager to asses the institutional and users' needs for a
region-wide program to offer access to digitized archival materials
- Continue conversations at state, regional, and national level about
cross-search and/or harvesting capabilities across state and regional consortia
and the future of regional and national search and harvesting

| Charge for the Chair
|
The Chair is responsible for guiding the Committee and Steering Team
to accomplish their charge. Activities include communicating with Council and
consortium staff, setting meeting agendas, encouraging participation by all
members, enlisting the assistance of consortium staff, producing reports, and
ensuring that minutes are taken, approved, and posted on the Alliance Web
site. |
| Charge for the Steering Team
Members |
The Steering Team is charged with actively pursuing the work of the
committee. Members of the Steering Team seek compromises and recommend policies
that benefit all members of the consortium. In the fulfillment of this role, the
Steering Team is expected to communicate with the full committee on a continuous
and intentional basis. |

Membership
responsibilities

Committee
members represent an entire member institution. Thus each representative is
expected to gather input from all relevant divisions, branches, autonomous
libraries, etc. and speak for the member
institution.

The
Northwest Digital Archives Program Manager serves in an ex officio and
non-voting capacity on the NWDA Steering Team
