Shipping labels and labeling

Printing the labels

All items must be addressed to a dropsite, using a pre-printed Orbis Cascade Alliance courier service label. The Attention box is filled in only when necessary.

Printing labels: Labels are available in two sizes:

large (4 labels to a sheet, printed "landscape" orientation), and

small (8 labels per sheet, printed "Portrait").

Go to the site to print labels.

Suggestion: print a set of master labels, and photocopy as desired. If you make a batch to last for a while, you may want to organize them in a box; see example below.

Dropsites that serve a group of participating libraries: be sure to provide labels for those libraries, too. Remember, the dropsite goes in "FROM". If you want to provide additional detail, such as the name of the participating library, add it below the Dropsite name in FROM.

The labels
FROM TO
The FROM section shows the name of the sending dropsite. Nothing else is required (street address, etc.) The name and address of the Dropsite is in this section, followed by a single-letter "sort code" for courier use.

Participating libraries
FROM TO
Name of participating Library may be added below the Dropsite Name in the FROM area. The courier delivers materials only to the dropsites. If the item's final destination is a "participating library" and not the dropsite, the dropsite arranges for sorting and forwarding to the participating library shown in the Attention box.
