Charge

The Summit Catalog Task Force is asked to address two topics:

1. Union Catalog.  Describe issues related to contribution, integration, maintenance and display of catalog records in Summit, and advise Council on those issues that may require membership input in the short term, long term, or on a continuing basis.

2. Electronic resources in the catalog. Review the policy and procedures for cataloging electronic resources, especially with regard to multiple vs. single records, and hotlinks (856), and advise Council on any needed changes.

Reporting

The Task Force is asked to issue a final report by November 19, 2004 for consideration at Council's fall meeting.

Membership

The Alliance Systems Manager serves in an ex officio and non-voting capacity on the SCTF.
